Renate Midori Nabh was born in February 2005 in Nagaoka, Japan, into a family of German-Indian-Japanese background. She had exposure to entirely different musical traditions but was drawn early on to the western piano.

Her musical awakening and first piano lessons started in 2010 in rural Japan of Niigata Prefecture with Satomi Shiiya, based on aural rather than score based training.

Since 2014 her permanent piano teacher in German tradition is Björn Vielhaber at Heilbronn City Music School in Germany.

She has been for five consecutive years in the talent scholarship program of the music school & recently joined Amadé network of Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.

Starting in 2017 she gained various artistic impulses from various master classes with Sontraud Speidel, Gerhard Vielhaber, Gilead Mishory, Wolfgang Manz, Sheila Arnold & Christoph Sischka.

She has been regularly price winner in various competitions, e.g. Jugend Musiziert (piano solo & duo, chamber piano with strings), Barbara Heller, Mozart Brno, Petar Konjovic Belgrad, DTKV BW, Grotrian-Steinweg.

Her wide repertoire spans from baroque to modern era with focus on Johann Sebastian Bach, the virtuose romantic period (e.g. Frédéric Chopin, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Sergey Rachmaninov) & modern composed Jazz style (e.g. Nikolai Kapustin, Fazil Say).
